Resolved Question: Free company website?

Hi, I have just started a tiny webdesign company, more of a hobby at the moment. http://www.neried.net.au My priority it to build up a portfolio before I start charging people for work so I want to do a couple of business sites for free. Just a few conditions: - tiny businesses only - I put my link on the bottom of the site - I use your site in my portfolio, whole point of this.... - Nothing too complex, its a free service remember. I will focus mainly on the design and the site programming. - I am only going to do one or two sites, so it's first in best dressed. - I'd prefer Australian companies only Free website. There is no shifty business going on, this is not a scam. You receive a free website out of it for your business and I receive something to show off in my portfolio. If you haven't already got a domain, www.yourcompany.com, that would be your only cost, and that doesn't go to me.... goes to a hosting company. Voting Question: Freelancer : best to use personal name or a company name?

I am a freelancer in webdesign since 2006. During the last years, I made several changes to my logo and "brand name" and finally ended up with "Wilson Multimedia", where Wilson would be my personal last name. This is neither a registered company nor a registered name. The only purpose is to build nice of a brand around my activity and portfolio. However, because I'm a freelancer and not a registered company, checks must be done to my personal name and everything legal is registered with my personal name. So, my question is : should I keep this brand name or should I use my personal name to identify my activities, website... ? Sure, it would be more convenient to use my real name because it's weird to explain clients to made checks to my name and that... no, there's only me in this "company". But, I still think the brand name gives a more serious / pro vision of my activities, even if people ultimately discover that there's only one person behind... Thanks for your advice !

Resolved Question: If I retake these classes (see list), and earn "A"'s, could I get a 4.0 GPA?

Ok, I asked the below question a few minutes ago, and I appreciate the answers. =) But.... I have another part to my question, now! lol IF.... Resolved Question: Webdesign Question: Can someone look at my website and tell me if its worth the $7,000 I paid for it?

I was interested in creating a website sometime ago and the designer's promised me the world and gave me this (illtownblues.com). The concept was a community based hiphop site where people could browse local talent and meet in the community forums. This began 3 years ago and its horrible I have complained and they have tried to patch it. Everytime I try to launch the site something doesn't work. I asked for Vbulletins they snuck some homemade forums in there. I need a webdesigner to close his eyes go back in time 2-3 years and let me know their honest opinion. I want to know how bad is it. Mind you my latest request is to receive google adsense going try to connect the forums (currently if you change your password in the forums its not tied to the logon on the homepage in other words the password change in VBulletin won't work on the homepage so it confuses the user. Theres a million more but if you could look at it i'd feel good knowing webdesigners checked it out.

Resolved Question: Computeach have all my personal details, what do i do!?

Without my permission my boyfriend had signed me up to a site called computeach.co.uk I received a call the next morning with a greeting from one of the computeach people and they explained that i signed up and asked what career I am interested in. I told them it was not be that signed up and I have no idea who they are. They appologized and explained and I then told them I currently webdesign/graphically and would like to learn some coding however. I let it slide because I knew it was my boyfriend who signed me up for this, so I let the guy send me an email with details. I was immediately put off by the price of the course (£1600+). However, today I just received a call from them in which made me mad because it's 11am and I am at work and my phone was not on silent. They left me a voice mail and I listened to it and they told me they are emailing me about some offers by the end of this week (discounts) obviously because they want to lure me into their little computeach world (which i have read every over the internet that it's unreliable and/or a scam). Well I have now requested that they destroy every personal data on me as I find it quite frightening that they continue to follow up on me and persuade me to use their services. Also the fact that they personally contact me on my mobile. Remember it was not me that signed up to computeach.co.uk. Do you think they will really destroy every details they have on me or will they still hold them somewhere in their database and sell them on to third parties etc? Is there any legal action I can take over this? Is there a way I can actually find proof that they have destroyed every data from my request? Hellooo??? I am currently being harassed by the guy who keeps contacting me via my mobile.. they are harassing me through email and will not cease replying every time i request they cease and receive rid of my details!

Complain Letter please help me to prepare a letter to my manager regarding a complain letter. Here is the story: My employer wanted me to help him to find a person to make a company website. So I asked my pal if she can help us for the website design. SO everything was agreed for both sides. So i help my pal because i had a commission doing it and i referred him to my employer. they were aware that i am helping my pal to finish this project. Informations and content of the website was done by me and design was from him. because of lack of cooperation from my employer for the other requirements we couldn't finish it. so my employer planned to withdraw the work and refund the money. so we gave back the money and too bad for us coz we already started the webdesign and the time we spent every evening. After a month, they found another designer for the web for our company. They took every the informations which I made and contents without asking my permission. Would u help me to make a complain letter that it is not legal taking my work without permission Please it will be more helpful for me. Hello there, I'd like to make a Christmas E-Card complete with Xmas music to e-mail to my friends and was wondering how to go about doing this? OK i am making a tiny webcomic and i need to make a code to make it so that when it gets to index.html it will calculate the newest comic (every are named by numeric numbers [like 1.html 5.html]) and then redirect it to the newest one. Open Question: Dreamweaver web-designer help.?

Ok so I designed my site layout in Photoshop then sliced up my page and saved it down for web using keep for web and devices into html and its images. I imported into dreamweaver and centered it and made some div tags (css) out of certain slices to make them editable to add youtube videos and other html codes for music, web counter etc... But my problem is when iv added my youtube custom player over a background image i receive a random white box around it. here's the html code of the video. heres the link to the page to show you my problem.. http://kn0ck0nw00d.info/Videos.html you can click around on the page a drag stuff just to show you everything on the page is background images/slices from photoshop. Also this might help when i added the html over the image by right clicking and clicking insert html the video box was way to big and split my page into peices so i clicked the corner and resized it. Any idea what my problem is here. Also i'm a noob to webdesign. I started a week ago learning and teaching myself from tutorials. Sorry but this thing problem has a simple fix but i'm just stumped as of now. Please help

My school offers AP Computer Science and I'm planning to take it (no matter what). I have been recomended for it by another teacher so I will be skipping the two classes that arrive before it. I know what the course is about and I want to receive an extremely good grade in it because computers in general is my 'thing' and I'm looking into webdesign or programming as a major when I head into college. If I wanted to receive a head start in the course, what things should I look into? (and list anything else that may be helpful in relating to this course in anyway)

Resolved Question: Photoshop - can anyone help me figure out my color picker?

I have NO idea what I did to make my color picker do what it's doing now but I can't for the life of me figure out how to put it back to the default mode. I found this here: http://www.webdesign.org/photoshop/articles/color-picker-versatility.101.html but it only tells you how to do the other modes, not to switch it back to the way the very first picture looks, with the color slider instead of a brighness/saturation slider. If anyone could help me I'd appreciate it so much. sorry if this is in the wrong category. :p

Resolved Question: Pleeeeease Heellpppp ='(?

How can I create something like this...? http://muti.co.za/static/newsmap.html or http://www.trackthisnow.com/ It's a mashup of Google Maps and a news feed. I need to make something like this including images but exactly what that site shows. Where do I start or what can I use to create it..? I know how to receive Google Maps on a page etc I don't have a problem with webdesign. But getting the two things to communicate and stuff, I don't have a clue. I would adore to make something like a first one but Idk. Please help I'm about to sob..... Please help!! Thank you =) PS: I already know how to receive google maps on, how to I receive it to communicate with other APIs??? Like say for example I used Yahoo Images API so if someone clicked on Japan pics of Japan should also appear aswell. PLEASE!!!!!
